Family Outreach Center offers training and education opportunities to educate community groups and mental health professionals working to improve the awareness of mental health in the community, provide continuing education credits to working professionals, and share specialized skills and knowledge. We offer topics that are designed to fit the needs of professionals who work for community organizations that offer health and human services. Family Outreach Center is an Approved Continuing Education provider with the Association of Social Work Boards. We are dedicated to providing quality training to professionals in the community. Participants who are not satisfied with the training received, facilities, accommodations, procedures, or have other concerns with the department may file a complaint or grievance by completing this form. Intro to Internal Family Systems is 2 hour presentation that will explore The Internal Family Systems (IFS) model. The Internal Family System model is a framework for connecting clients to the misunderstood “parts” of themselves that are often the cause of presenting problems. This connection helps to reframe their unhealthy behaviors as well-intended strengths, rather than pathologizing them. This session is geared toward clinicians to introduce IFS as a trauma-informed intervention for clients of all ages.
