|Title||Prevention Specialist and Outpatient Therapist|
Family Outreach Center is seeking a Masters in Social Work or equivalent to provide outpatient mental health and substance abuse services in its outpatient clinic and Substance Use Prevention services in the community. The successful candidate must have experience in working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Experience with substance use prevention, working with children, and facilitating groups is preferred. Licensure with the State of Michigan to practice as a social worker (LMSW) or the equivalent is required. In addition, the successful candidate must also possess or be eligible to apply for a CAADC.
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to: 1.)Demonstrate knowledge of youth substance use and substance use prevention; 2.) Facilitate regularly scheduled youth prevention groups, presentations, and community information dissemination events; 3.) Effectively engage with community coalitions, partners, and the prevention team; 4.) Assess mental health and substance use disorders using the DSM 5 diagnostic manual; 5.) Develop and implement clinical interventions appropriate to the identified needs of the client population; 6.) Complete all clinical reports in a timely manner
